Repair Technician

The Repair Technician  Machine Shop is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of small assembly groups  . This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Your tasks:

Machine Diagnosis and Repair:

  • Inspect and diagnose issues with machinery, tools, and equipment in the shop.
  • Perform repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed.

Equipment Calibration:

  • Calibrate and adjust machinery as needed to meet production specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure all repaired and maintained equipment is functioning correctly before returning to service. 

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Manage day-to-day inventory and shipping operations (logistics).
  • Handle customer inquiries and schedule repairs.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes.
  • Handle financial aspects and reporting.
  • Support the manager in all aspects of division operations. 

Your profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade school training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a repair technician or similar role, preferably in a machine shop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and logistics.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various shop conditions (noise, dust, etc.).

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
  • Regular standing, walking, and lifting of heavy objects are required.
